Khamari Brooks Explains Why Georgia Made His Top Three Choices

Khamari Brooks, a highly regarded four-star prospect in the class of 2026, has impressed many with both his talent and mental approach to the game. David Pollack, a three-time All-American at Georgia and current assistant coach at North Oconee, called him one of the most brilliant players he has encountered. On his birthday, Brooks revealed his top three schools: Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia. He noted that he has had conversations with the head coaches at these schools and feels confident that he could develop well at any of them.

Brooks recently visited Georgia for their Junior Day event, where he became more familiar with the program. Although he hasn’t yet scheduled official visits, he plans to do so after reviewing his summer football schedule. At Alabama, former Georgia linebacker Christian Robinson has played a significant role in his recruitment, speaking regularly with Brooks about his potential role with the Crimson Tide. Clemson’s defensive ends coach, Chris Rumph, is also heavily involved in recruiting Brooks, along with Georgia’s EDGE coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe.

Brooks expressed a strong interest in Georgia, particularly because of their emphasis on rotating players and giving early playing time. He values the Bulldogs’ strategy of playing multiple defensive players, including freshmen, and he likes that they are focused on developing versatile players like himself. Brooks said he has been told that Georgia sees him as an EDGE player who can move around, take on various roles, and even drop back into coverage.

His versatility on the field is a major selling point, with coaches praising his ability to play different positions, including inside linebacker. Brooks highlighted his rapid development since attending Georgia’s summer camp, noting that coaches were impressed by how much he had improved over the course of the season. His family connections to Georgia also play a role in his interest, as both his great uncle and step-grandfather were former players for the Bulldogs, which has influenced his lifelong fandom.

Brooks emphasized the importance of education in his decision-making process, calling it a non-negotiable factor. He also values having a strong relationship with his position coach, as this bond will be key throughout his college years. He understands that education will remain important after football and wants to ensure he builds lasting connections with his coaches.
