In a 114-103 victory over the Utah Jazz at Chase Center on Tuesday, Dennis Schröder and Brandin Podziemski combined for 43 points, leading the Golden State Warriors. Schröder contributed 23 points, marking his highest-scoring game since joining the Warriors, while Podziemski added his second 20-point performance of the season. Podziemski’s crucial 3-pointer from the left corner late in the game gave the Warriors a double-digit lead, sealing the win.
Both teams played without key players, with the Warriors missing Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jonathan Kuminga, while the Jazz were without Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, and John Collins. Schröder and Podziemski stepped up in the backcourt, with Schröder also helping to fill the void left by Curry’s absence. For the Jazz, Colin Sexton was the standout performer, scoring a game-high 30 points in a losing effort.
Schröder was the first Warrior to reach double digits, finishing the first half with a team-leading 15 points. However, he left the game early in the third quarter after an injury. Schröder was driving to the basket when he collided with a defender, landing awkwardly on his left knee after attempting a layup. He was escorted to the locker room, but returned to the game shortly after with his left ankle wrapped.
Despite the injury scare, Schröder didn’t slow down and continued his strong performance. He finished with 23 points, including two more 3-pointers after his return to the court. Schröder’s resilience was evident as he showed off his trademark ‘freeze’ celebration after hitting those long-range shots.
In the absence of Curry, Schröder stepped up in a big way for the Warriors, delivering his best scoring game since joining the team. His performance, along with Podziemski’s contributions, helped the Warriors maintain their lead and secure a solid win over the Jazz.
