Top 2026 basketball recruit Tyran Stokes is beginning to schedule his college visits, and Kentucky is one of the schools on his list. The No. 1-ranked player in his class is slated to visit Lexington from May 15 to May 17, according to his mother.
Stokes has already made official visits to both Louisville and Kansas. His upcoming trip to Kentucky signals strong interest from the Wildcats as they continue their recruitment of the elite forward.
Described as a rare physical talent, Stokes has received high praise from coaches and analysts. Notre Dame coach Matt Sargeant called him a “once-in-every-few-years physical specimen,” noting his unique blend of athleticism, competitiveness, unselfishness, and size.
Kentucky extended a scholarship offer to Stokes soon after Mark Pope took over as head coach last spring. Assistant coach Jason Hart has played a key role in recruiting the California native, making multiple visits and serving as the primary contact for Stokes and his family.
Despite speculation that Stokes might move up a year and join the 2025 recruiting class, sources close to the situation say he plans to stay in the 2026 class. This likely aligns with Kentucky’s current roster structure, which is already expected to be full for the 2025–26 season.
Stokes remains one of the most highly sought-after prospects in the country, and his visit to Kentucky will be closely watched as the Wildcats look to land a future cornerstone for their program.
